Somers Cove Marina
Located on the Chesapeake Bay Eastern Shore in historic Crisfield, Maryland, Somers Cove Marina offers boaters easy access to Somerset County's many attractions. The marina has 515 slips with free fresh water hookups, use of the marina swimming pool, barbecue grills, picnic tables, clean, modern comfort stations, laundry rooms, and more. Somers Cove Marina is also the Maryland Sport Fishing Tournament contact station.
Janes Island State Park
The park is made up of two areas, a developed mainland section, and a portion accessible only by boat. The park's marked canoeing and kayaking water trails offer in a beautiful natural paradise with few signs of civilization. Most of the wind and current protected waterways provide ideal conditions for the novice as well as the experienced paddler. More information can be found at Maryland DNR Site.
Smith Island Water Trails
Also known as a watermans' community, Smith Island is a paddler's paradise for day or over-night trips. The wandering creeks through the island's marsh provide relaxing paddling opportunites close to three island villages. The Smith Island Water Trails Paddlers Guide details seven routes that are marked for adventurous exploration. Warning: unmarked routes require local knowledge, we recommend consultation by a knowledgable local resident before embarking. Be sure to watch for wildlife on the island. Whether you're a casual photographer or a long-time wildlife photographer, you will definitely want to bring along your camera.
Pocomoke State Forest
Cypress swamps border the Pocomoke River and the nearby waters provide for great flat water canoeing. Five areas in the forest, including the swamp, are designated Wildlands Areas.

With 23 boat slips with water and electrical hookups, launching ramp, lighted dock area and a fuel and transient pier The Shad Landing Marina offers easy access to many boating adventures. Rowboats and canoes may be rented or bring you own boat to launch at the Milburn Landing launching ramp.

Dames Quarter Public Ramp
The closest public boat ramp from The Farm House is located on Dames Quarter Creek at the end of Messick Road.
No permit or launch fee is required for the single ramp facility. The ramp is open 24 hours a day to lauch your small, 16ft and under, vessel. There are 10 parking spaces available (sorry - no handicap parking), portable restrooms, ice and bait nearby. No fuel stations are located at the ramp so be sure to gas-up on your way there.
